What is an Artist Blacksmith?

The artist-blacksmith shapes and forges iron with hammer and anvil so as to unite the functional with the aesthetic.

So Do You Shoe Horses?

Despite common usage, the person who shoes horses is a farrier, rather than a blacksmith. Many farriers have carried out both trades, but most modern or engineering smiths do not.
